Floppy Hat M90 NCWR

Built for demanding Nordic environments, the Floppy Hat M90 NCWR combines the classic Swedish M90 military-style camouflage with modern weather protection and exceptional durability. While it shares the familiar silhouette of a traditional boonie hat, this is a purpose-built field hat designed specifically for harsh Scandinavian conditions.

Featuring our NCWR (Nordic Conditions Water Resistant) construction, the hat is lined with a breathable PTFE membrane that helps protect against rain while allowing excess heat and moisture to escape. Whether you're trekking through rain-soaked Swedish forests, crossing the open mountain landscapes of Lapland, or navigating the rugged Scandinavian archipelago, this hat is designed to perform.

Constructed from a rugged Poly/Cotton ripstop-style weave, the hat maintains its characteristic floppy shape while remaining easy to fold and pack into a jacket or cargo pocket. Unlike many field hats, it contains no metal components—no wire in the brim and no metal eyelets—making it lightweight, quiet, and practical in the field.

Strategically placed sewn ventilation eyelets improve airflow, helping keep your head cool and comfortable during demanding activities. The short all-around brim provides effective protection from rain and sun without obstructing vision, shielding your eyes, ears, and neck.

A heavy-duty adjustable chin strap secures the hat in even the windiest conditions. With adjustment points beneath the chin and at the rear of the head, the dual cord-lock system provides an exceptionally stable fit—ideal above the treeline, on open water, or whenever the weather turns rough.

Please note: This is not a lightweight tropical jungle hat. The Floppy Hat M90 NCWR is intentionally built from heavier materials to withstand the challenging weather and terrain of the Nordic region.

Care Instructions

Please read the care label inside the hat before washing.

• Hand wash using a mild, non-bleaching detergent or soap.

• Do not tumble dry.

• Do not iron at high temperatures.

Installing the Glow Cord End

If you wish to install the included glow-in-the-dark cord end, carefully heat the tip of the chin strap and compress it with flat-nose pliers to create a narrower end that can be threaded through the cord end. If you choose not to install it, simply tie a small knot at the end of the chin strap to prevent fraying.
